Meet this year's SUP students
12 weeks have passed and our fantastic system development students will soon launch the module they built for our customer and partner website My Pages. What is it like to do your system development project at our company? Find out that in this interview.
During the spring, Anton Dahl and Madelen Näslund did their system development project (SUP) with us at Sitevision. Both are studying the last semester of the system development program and share an interest in animals and like to play board games or video games when they are not tapping code or studying.
A module that displays statistics for partners
This spring we launch our new customer and partner website My Pages. This year's system development project was to build a module for the partner section of My Pages where Sitevision partners can see their statistics linked to our partner levels. Our partner levels are platinum, gold and silver and registered partners. Which level a partner has is based on various parameters, ranging from sales to certifications. The module will help partners see how they are doing during the year and see which areas they can grow and develop in.
– In this SUP project, we have built two WebApps in Sitevision, one to show statistics to partners and one to manage the statistics that will be used in the Sitevision editor. Both apps are built in REACT. Then we have been supported by our supervisors in building REST apps for static to be retrieved from Salesforce and Marketplace.
Why did you choose Sitevision?
One of the reasons Anton and Madelen chose to do their SUP project with us was because they wanted to learn more about REACT. Then they had already discovered Sitevision during an afterwork that we organized for students.
– We got a good first impression during the afterwork so we sent in an application and got the chance to do our SUP with you. Being able to try working life has been developing and we have really been involved in everything and constantly received feedback on what we have done so that we have progressed, says Madelen.
Anton goes on to highlight challenges that have been encountered along the way.
– One of the challenges of coming straight from university is managing to write good code. We got most of it to work, but you want it to work in the long run as well. We have had the luxury of having two supervisors who have supported us in this work and we have learned a lot. We have also been able to ask other developers at your company, which has been worth a lot. We have felt like a part of the team and always welcome.
Finally, Madelen and Anton say that they would recommend other students to do their SUP at Sitevision. We are very happy about that and we are also happy that they chose to do their SUP with us!
Are you interested in doing your SUP with us? Send in an expression of interest here or keep an eye out this fall when we present the 2023 SUP project.
