Why a digital collaboration platform?
How many different digital tools do you use right now? Maybe you just came out of a digital meeting where you had a presentation open. Then a colleague writes that it's time for coffee just as you're about to finish writing that article and click publish. That means you have at least four applications runing in different tools, different places and different interfaces. How did this happen and what are the alternatives?
At the end of 2022, eSam presented the results of the Digital Collaboration Platform project, also known as dSam. They have been working on developing options and proposals for legal and appropriate collaboration tools. It became clear that there are challenges in creating a common user experience when it comes to digital tools.
As with all productivity tools, such as chat, video conferencing and document management, they need to be put into context to achieve maximum impact. Otherwise, they risk becoming digital islands that divide rather than unite employees. A common user experience is simply a must to meet tomorrow's demands for digital collaboration.
New tools for collaboration
The main reason for acquiring new digital collaboration tools is to have tools that are GDPR-secure and that meet the regulatory requirements of the public sector. As it has been difficult to find alternative legal services, there are organisations that lack certain digital tools.
In addition to the challenge of finding legal alternative services, the digital world of work has changed with the pandemic. More and more workplaces have become hybrid, which places higher demands on collaborative tools. Time is money and therefore new effective digital tools are needed. The focus should be on collaboration and not messing with technology.
5 benefits of a digital collaboration platform in Sitevision
- Easy to integrate collaboration tools recommended by dSam
- All digital tools gathered in one place. For example, you will be able to easily access documents from NextCloud or can start video meetings via Jitsi.
- Accessibility built in from the start according to WCAG AA
- Collaboration enabled inside and outside the organisation
- All data is protected, managed and stored in accordance with applicable legislation
In the end, the same challenges remain: being able to work efficiently and collaborate. The difference now will be to do it safely, securely and legally. With Sitevision, you can also create a common user experience for your employees. Because by using Sitevision as the foundation of your digital collaboration platform, you get a user-friendly and powerful publishing tool that also allows you to integrate digital collaboration tools in a simple way.
Many of the tools that dSam recommends are in the works or available in our Marketplace. And with modules from the Marketplace, you can seamlessly install applications in Sitevision that will be accessible to all collaborators. All modules you find in the Marketplace are reviewed and quality assured by us before they are published. The modules are updated nightly to keep them in top shape. Modules for Jitsi, Quickchannel and Screen9 are already available in the Marketplace.
