Sitevision is sometimes so good you have to pinch yourself
Yes, if we get a headline like this then we hold on to it đ Tobias Wiklund is Sitevision's most valuable professional 2022 and senior system developer at Consid. In this guest blog, he shares how it can be to work in other systems compared to Sitevision.
To understand why, we need to go back 12 years. A customer called me in a panic wondering why all the images had disappeared from their website. When I logged into the site, I realized that the path to the images no longer matched where the images were actually located. The client had simply changed the name of the folders. The difference was not in the spelling but in the fact that they now had a capital letter at the beginning of the word.
I quickly fixed the name of the folder and the images were back on the website. But then came the tricky part, I had to ask the client to not only change the folder names but also update the links to the hundreds of images already on the site. The client asked, "Why can't this be done automatically?" They preferred to capitalize the folder names and structure their files as they saw fit and didn't want to deal with the extra administration. I tried to explain that this was just how web technology worked.
It was only years later, when I started working with Sitevision, that I realized there was actually a better way. Sitevision takes care of the management of files and paths. Links are created dynamically based on where the files are actually located. This means you don't have to manually update links every time you change a folder or file.
More and more companies, editors and developers are discovering the benefits of Sitevision. They are learning to work flexibly with content, quickly produce updates and easily create flexible templates. Once you learn the tool, you discover many smart and automatic solutions that simplify the everyday life of anyone working with websites.
So yes, Sitevision is sometimes so good that you have to pinch yourself to realize it's true! The system allows you to create very effective websites and intranets with minimal maintenance and maximum effect. Are you curious about what Sitevision can do for your company or organization? Call me and I can tell you more!
